Abstract: Current status of Vega Prime regarding releases including partner plugins
Current Shipping Versions:
Vega Prime v2.1:
Vega Prime 2.1 for Windows and Linux, is currently shipping and available for e-fulfillment or physical shipment. Vega Prime 2.1 is a full distribution and major release. This version was made available as a 'push' (actively sent) to customers with current maintenance as of September 1, 2006. A v2.1.1 patch is planned for availability in December 2006
It is important to note that it has been determined that there is not enough interest in Irix to justify the continued development of Vega Prime on Irix. As a result, Vega Prime v2.0.x is the last version available for the Irix platform.
Blueberry 3D Development Environment:
Current Shipping Version is 2.0
Supported Platforms are Windows
Bionatics has finalized support for Vega Prime v2.0.x, and both physical media for shipment and efulfillment is available now.
Bionatics has estimated a mid-December release of the BB3D Runtime Environment for Vega Prime v2.1.
DI-Guy for Vega Prime:
Current Shipping Version is 7.0.8
Supported Platforms are Windows and Linux
Boston Dynamics' current shipping version for customers using Vega Prime 2.0.x is DI-Guy 7.0. Efulfillment is available now.
Update:Current preliminary estimates (given 12/7/2006) for a version of DI-Guy for Vega Prime supporting Vega Prime v2.1 are availability in January 2007.
DIS/HLA for Vega Prime:
Current Shipping Version is 2.1.1
Supported Platforms are Windows and Linux
MAK Technologies' DIS/HLA for Vega Prime 2.1 for Windows and Linux has been released and is available for both electronic efulfillment and physical shipment.
GL Studio for Vega Prime:
Current Shipping Version for customers using Vega Prime 2.0.x is GL Studio for Vega Prime version 2.5
Supported Platforms are Windows and Linux
GL Studio for Vega Prime v2.5, with support for Vega Prime 2.0.x is available for customers on Windows and Linux.
GL Studio v3.2 has been released by DISTI and is available now.
Update: On 12/11/2006, DISTI has provided MultiGen with an updated version of GL Studio for Vega Prime 2.8, with support for Vega Prime v2.1. This version supports both Windows and Linux. This version is available on efulfillment, we are awaiting CDs.
Additional info: GL Studio for Vega Prime 2.8 is designed for GL Studio 3.2 and Vega Prime 2.1. Both Windows and Linux plug-ins are included in the GLS Vega Prime 2.8 link above. To develop GL Studio components you will also need to download the appropriate editor for your operating system (Windows or Linux). If you will be using Linux (Red Hat Enterprise 4) with the GL Studio 3.2 Linux Editor you will also need the GL Studio 3.2 Runtime Libraries for gcc 3.4.2.
Immersive for Vega Prime:
Current Shipping Version is 2.0
Supported Platforms are Windows and Irix
VRCO Immersive for Vega Prime 2.0.x for Windows and Irix has been released and is available.
Vortex for Vega Prime:
Current Shipping Version is 2.0
Supported Platform is Windows
Vortex for Vega Prime v2.0.x is released and available for efulfillment. A Linux version is still being investigated by CM Labs, however no actual commitment.
Update:On 12/11/2006, CM labs has provided MultiGen with an updated version of Vortex for Vega Prime v2.1 that has passed testing. We are now waiting for final efulfillment archive and CDs to be provided. This version will support Windows.
